Is it Safe to Upgrade?
So far there have been no ‘major’ issues for people upgrading their sites from PlatformPro to the new PageLines Framework. The average time to make the switch ranges from five minutes to a few hours depending on the level of customization that was previously applied to the website. That said, there are still a few things you should be aware of when upgrading. They are…
The Good News → “Non-Destructive Upgrade” – Because we knew there would be some issues with upgrading the framework, we worked to make sure the upgrade was “non-destructive.” This means that if you try and upgrade and don’t like what you see, or don’t have time to fix a couple issues, you can always revert to PlatformPro. Easy.
Database Untouched – Your posts, pages and content will all remain intact in the database after upgrading.
CSS Changes – In developing the framework, it’s very difficult to prevent CSS changes from happening once in a while on upgrade. With PageLines there were a few changes to markup (e.g. using ‘section’ as opposed to ‘div’ elements in some cases…) This has caused a couple issues.
Solution: The minor CSS problems can be fixed easily by correcting your custom css rules to align with the new elements.
Section Control – To improve the functionality of Section Control, we had to change the way its data was stored in the DB. Therefore section control options get wiped on upgrade.
Solution: Simply set these options again and you are good to go.
Global vs. Meta Options – To give you more control over your pages, we moved many section options to the MetaPanel. This means that the global options are no longer relevant.
Solution: Simply setup meta options for customized sections across your site; you can also use the new default option handling system.

Is Framework 2.0 an update of Platform Pro 1.x?
No it is not. Framework 2.0 is completely deferent product. Yes. they look similar but they are not the same. Platform Pro is a theme, while PageLines Framework is a framework . As I understand it PageLines Pro is a theme build around a framework with set of given customization options. With the launching of Framework 2.0 Pagelines team is trying to partly separate the core framework from the customizable elements. Those missing customization options will be available as plugins, themes and sections. They can be found in the newly developed Store. There are two ways you can access the Store - either from www.pagelines.com > Store button (upper right), or through the Wordpress admin panel of your site - wordpress > Pagelines > Store.
How to purchase Framework 2.0?
there are several scenarios
- you are new customer - through the PageLines website - http://www.pagelines.com/pricing/
- you are existing customer - platform pro developer plus license - upgrade to Framework 2.0 developer is free for you - you should find the link in your account
- you are existing customer - platform pro developer ( without plus ) license - again two scenarios -
a. if you purchased Platform Pro dev. before September 15 - you should have received discount coupon with a code
b. if you purchased Platform Pro dev after September 15 - upgrade to Framework 2.0 developer is free for you - you should find the link in your account

Are previous themes still supported?
they ARE supported, but they can not be purchased any more. Probably they will be available as child themes of Framework 2.0.
Can I use PlatformPro Base theme with PageLines Framework?
no can not.
Need Framework 2.0 child theme - what to do?
there are two ways of customizing Framework with CSS rules.
a. you can download and activate the Framework 2.0 child theme from - wordpress admin panel > Pagelines > Store > Themes > Base theme
b .or you can customize you site using the Pagelines Customize plugin (recommended) - were to find it -
Where to find Pagelines Customize plugin and how to use it
wordpress admin panel > Pagelines > Store > Plugins > Pagelines Customize plugin - download it and activate it. Than go to wordpress admin panel > plugins > Pagelines Customize plugin > edit - you will see the customizable php and css files.
Most of the color control options are now missing
yes. some of them are missing. If you need more detailed customization of the colors, you have to do this with the Pagelines Customize tool ( see 7., 8. ) or child theme and css rules.
The leaf logo still appears in my PageLines Developer edition
go to wordpress admin panel > Pagelines > Account > enter your username ad password. refresh the page and the logo will desapear.
