It's easy to transfer a basic PageLines site from one domain to another. After you have installed WordPress and PageLines on your new site, you will have to perform at least four main steps. and possibly more depending on the complexity of your site.

Step One: Export your WordPress posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags from your old site

From your old site's WordPress Administration Panel:

  1. Select the "Tools" panel, then "Export"
  2. "All content" will be exported unless you choose a different option
  3. Click "Download export file"
    • The .xml file will be named (sitename).wordpress.(date).xml

Step Two: Export your PageLines settings from your old site

From your old site's WordPress Administration Panel:

  1. Select the "PageLines" panel, then "Extend"
  2. Select the "Import-Export" tab
  3. Click "Export Settings File"
    • The .dat file will be named PageLines-PageLines-Settings-(date).dat

Step Three: Import your WordPress posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags to your new site

From your new site's WordPress Administration Panel:

  1. Select the "Tools" panel, then "Import"
  2. Click "WordPress"
