How to Use the PageLines Store
The PageLines Store is a revolutionary marketplace for drag & drop web design and significantly extends your customization options.
In the PageLines Store you have access to drag & drop sections, plugins and themes written by the PageLines extended family of web developers.
With these drag & drop products, it's easy to create a fully unique, professional website without touching any code!
Think of it like a mobile app store, except for website development.

Sections
Sections allow you to drag & drop professional web design into your site.
Install PageLines Sections Plugin
Before adding sections, you need to install and activate the PageLines Sections Plugin.
From your WordPress Administration Panel:
- Select the "PageLines" panel, then "Store"
- Select "Sections"
- Click "Install it Now"
- A black overlay appears showing "Plugin Installed" successfully
- You can now "Add Sections"
Add Drag & Drop Sections
Search the Featured, Premium and Free areas to find new sections for use in your Template Areas.
To install a section, in the PageLines Store:
- Select "Sections"
- Select "Add Sections"
- Click to "Purchase" Premium Sections or "Install" Free Sections
- Click "Overview" or "Demo" to preview the section on the author's site
- For Featured & Premium sections, payments are processed through PayPal
- Once installed, the section will be listed in the "Added" tab
- Once activated, sections are available to drag & drop in the PageLines / Templates panel.
- Review the "Overview" and "Demo" written by individual section authors for instructions on using each section.
Deactivate Core Sections
Usually, the default settings on this tab do not need to be changed.
But there may be cases when you have added several new sections, and your Templates area is cluttered. If you do not need a core section, you can deactivate it here.
In The PageLines Store:
- Select "Sections"
- Select "Core"
- Click "Deactivate" to remove sections
- A black overlay appears showing "Section Deactivated" successfully
Once deactivated, you can easily reactivate if needed:
- Click "Activate" to reactivate
Child Theme Sections
Most child themes include custom drag & drop sections offering unique design & layout options.
- If the child theme is activated, available sections will be listed under the "Child" tab.
- By default, these sections are activated and available for use in the PageLines Templates.
To deactivate or activate child theme sections, refer to the instructions above for deactivating "Core" sections.
Uploading a Section in .zip format
Use the .zip upload to add a section if:
- you have downloaded a section from the online PageLines.com store and are adding it to your site
- or if you have created your own section and want to upload it for use on your site
If creating and adding your own sections, PageLines 2.0 offers templates, training, and a streamlined process. For help creating a new section, follow the instructions in the Developer Docs and watch the PageLines Essential Training videos.
In The PageLines Store:
- Select "Sections"
- Select "Add Sections"
- Select "Upload"
- Click "Choose File" or "Browse" to select a .zip file from a local directory
- Important: The .zip must be named section-nameofyoursection.zip for the upload to work
- Click "Install Now"
- The section is now in the "Added" tab
- If your section is not in the "Added" tab, either there is an error in the section.php file or the .zip file is incorrectly named
- Click "Activate" to begin using your new section!
Themes
Use PageLines Themes to set an overall design for your site.
Purchase & Install Themes
Search the Featured, Premium and Free areas to find themes.
From your WordPress Administration Panel:
- Select the "PageLines" panel, then "Store"
- Select "Themes"
- Select "Add Themes"
- Click to "Purchase" Premium Themes or "Install" Free Themes
- Click "Overview" or "Demo" to preview the theme on the author's site
- For Featured & Premium plugins, payments are processed through PayPal
Once installed, the theme will be listed in the "Added" tab.
- Once activated, theme settings are accessible from the WordPress Administration Appearance / Themes panel.
- Review the "Overview" and "Demo" written by individual section authors for instructions on using each theme.
Themes can also be uploaded, installed and activated through the WordPress Appearance / Themes panel.
Activate the Base Theme
To create your own child theme, customize the CSS, or easily make changes to functions.php, activate the Base Theme, a free starter child theme from PageLines.
From your WordPress Administration Panel:
- Select the "PageLines" panel, then "Store"
- Select "Themes"
- Select "Add Themes"
- Select "Top Free"
- Find "Base Theme" and Click "Install"
- Once activated, the theme appears in the "Added" tab
- Click "Activate" to use the theme
- Once installed, the theme can also be activated or deactivated from the WordPress Themes interface
You can also use the free "PageLines Customize" Plugin to make design changes. It includes style.css and function.php files.
Plugins
Plugins are used to add functionality to your site.
Add Plugins
Search the Featured, Premium and Free areas to find plugins.
From your WordPress Administration Panel:
- Select the "PageLines" panel, then "Store"
- Select "Plugins"
- Select "Add Plugins"
- Click to "Purchase" Premium Plugins or "Install" Free Plugins
- Click "Overview" or "Demo" to preview the plugin on the author's site
- For Featured & Premium plugins, payments are processed through PayPal
- Once installed, the plugin will be listed in the "Added" tab
- Once activated, plugin settings are accessible from the WordPress Administration "Plugins" panel.
- Review the "Overview" and "Demo" written by individual section authors for instructions on using each plugin.
Plugins can also be uploaded, installed and activated through the WordPress Plugins / Add New panel.
The Store on PageLines.com
In addition to using The PageLines Store within your WordPress installation, you can browse and purchase Sections, Themes, and Plugins in the Store at PageLines.com.
Once a section, plugin or theme is downloaded from PageLines.com, either ftp or upload the file to your site.
For Sections, either:
- Upload a .zip file using the Store / Sections / Add Sections / Upload panel (see instructions above)
- Or FTP the section folder to wp-content/plugins/pagelines-sections/
For Themes, either:
- Upload using the WordPress native uploader for Themes in the Appearance / Themes panel
- Or FTP the theme folder to wp-content/themes/
For Plugins, either:
- Upload using the WordPress native uploader for Plugins in the Plugins / Add New panel
- Or FTP the plugin folder to wp-content/plugins/
